I’m the cartoonist who used to draw Cock and Bull. Apparently, the strip has been outsourced to a bunch of very talented people recently, but I think it’s time I come back before I start feeling too much like a slacker.

I’m pretty amazed at the response from so many people wanting to do a guest strip and, admittedly, it has gone on for quite a bit longer than I expected. But, as I’ve said before, it’s been a lot of fun seeing what everybody has done.

I’ll continue to do the strip, but at the same time I’m considering a bit of a career change. I’ve always been interested in animation and I’ve gotten to a point where freelancing as an illustrator/cartoonist is getting old. So I’ve decided to apply to Animation Mentor in order to, first of all, see if I can get in, and secondly, to learn a whole bunch about character animation and hopefully make that my profession sometime in the future.

No, I have not had a brain transplant performed by squirrel monkeys. Why do you ask?

If this whole thing doesn’t work out, plan B is to find a good program at a community college and get a BA in miming.

It’s all a bit scary to do at the age of 34 (especially the miming part – hopefully, it won’t come to that), but what’re you gonna do. I like this crazy idea of people possibly paying me money on a semi-regular basis instead of having to yank it out of the cold dead hands of clients every blue moon.

So, now to find a way to finance this lunatic endeavor… Would someone buy $17500 worth of Cock and Bull merchandise, please? Thx!
